About the Author
M. Darrol Bryant is Professor of Religion and Culture at Renison College, University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He has taught religious studies at the University for more than three decades; from 1987 to 1993, served as Chairman of the Department of Religious Studies.
Professor Bryant has been a Visiting Scholar at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom; the Indian Institute of Islamic Studies, New Delhi, India; the Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Institute for Advanced Studies in Philosophy, University of Madras, Madras, India; Hamdard University, New Delhi, India; and Nairobi University, Nairobi, Kenya.
Author of four volumes on the study of religion, he is a long-standing member of the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion, the American Academy of Religion, the Canadian Theological Society and the Royal Asiatic Society. He has served as a consultant to major international and interreligious conferences including the Assembly of the World’s Religions.
